KAO is an artist out of Grand Rapids area, Michigan. My work focuses on disability, grief and healing, and connection throughout the community. My goals for 2026 include exploring live paintings of the community to highlight special moments that bring people together. I’m a disabled artist, with pituitary tumors since birth that affect me on a daily basis and how I perceive the world. I use this gift to explore a unique perspective, and build empathy and kindness for the world. My work is built on impressionism, with bold colors and textures, with an overarching world of painting, music, and writing that all work together to create a synesthetic experience.
